OPORD Week 6 - Sunday (OP MOUNTAIN SHIELD)
I. Situation
a. Enemy Forces
- Composition: 20–200 insurgent fighters located in Feruz Abad and Falar (South/East).
- Mountain Elements: 100–200 high-mobility insurgent fighters positioned North and West in mountainous terrain.
- Capabilities: Enemy possesses BM-21 Grad (short-to-medium range missiles) and mortar systems. Expect rapid, unpredictable maneuvers and indirect fire (IDF) from high-ground positions.
b. Friendly Forces
- A Co, 1-183rd Infantry: Main Effort (ME). Responsible for site seizure and security.
- 1-211th CAB: Aviation support. Responsible for sling-load transport and aerial overwatch.
- B Co, Combat Engineers: Technical construction of COP/FARP infrastructure.
II. Mission
A Co, 1-183rd Infantry, in conjunction with 1-211th CAB and B Co Engineers, establishes and builds FARP/COP Sanginakt (GR 039 069, 555m) to extend aviation loiter time and enable future ground combat patrols.
III. Execution
a. Concept of Operations
A Co, 1-183rd will conduct an air assault/ground insertion to seize the objective site. Upon landing, security must be established immediately to facilitate heavy-lift operations.
b. Tasks to Subordinate Units
- A Co, 1-183rd Infantry:
- Seize and secure GR 039 069.
- Establish two (2) OPs (West and East) at dominant terrain features TBD.
- Provide 360-degree security for Engineering assets.
- B Co, Combat Engineers:
- Construct HESCO perimeter.
- Install one (1) fuel bladder and one (1) helipad.
- Erect four (4) watchtowers at cardinal corners.
- 1-211th CAB:
- Transport construction truck and Class IV supplies via sling-load.
- Maintain continuous aerial overwatch and suppression of enemy IDF sites.
c. Coordinating Instructions
- Timeline: Construction MUST reach "Defensible Status" within 1 hour of insertion.
- Defensible Status: Defined as a closed HESCO perimeter (min. 1-tier) and manned crew-served weapons.
- ROE: Standard Rules of Engagement apply; use of force authorized against identified IDF platforms and maneuvering hostile forces.
IV. Sustainment
- Class III (Fuel): Initial FARP bladder stock provided via 211th CAB.
- Class IV (Construction): HESCOs, lumber, and helipad kits transported via CAB.
- Class V (Ammo): Basic load for all infantry units; emergency resupply via 1-211th.
- Medevac: CASEVAC via 1-211th air assets.
